Dancing Flower Episode 1: hey, he is watching you.

Here is my Dancing Flower Podcast as my final project!

Do you often attend to others?

What if your answer to this question could be influenced by the place where you grew up or the place you are in right now?

Maika speaks with Prof. Sharon Goto about how the individualism-collectivism dimension of cultural differences can influence how much you observe others or how often you are aware of being watched.

After the interview, Maika introduces “the Look” in Jean-Paul Sartre’s Being and Nothingness, and explores how we can connect Sartre’s concept of the Other with the individualism-collectivism characteristics.

At the end of the episode, Maika considers when and how we can be aware of our freedom.

Check out this episode if you are curious about human relationships, freedom, or just about how your everyday routine at a cafe is actually related to a cool philosophical idea!
